It offers a great escape for those wanting to stay in a boutique hotel away from the hustle and bustle of cities. We stayed in the Azulejos Room overlooking the trees and every detail in this room and the house overall is stunning. At first we thought that the location might be a little inconvenient as it is around 14 km from the town of Tavira, but this place turned out to be one of the highlights of our honeymoon!!! Nestled in an ecological valley, this place is utterly peaceful and has impeccable decor. We stayed here for two nights during our honeymoon in Portugal. Overall can't recommend Cas al Cubo and the surrounding area enough :) Of the beaches, we particularly liked Praia do Barril - the short train journey out to the beach is a fun experience and the beach is lovely. The only downside of the location is that you need a car to get around and the beaches are a ~20 min drive away, but we didn't think this was a problem. Their insider tips also meant we ended enjoying some wonderful tucked away experiences such as Taran's beautiful glass art, Ana's country kitchen and the Moncarapacho olive grove tour. If you're lucky enough to be there on an evening meal day (usually twice per week), then definitely take advantage - it's restaurant quality food in an informal environment. Not sure how I will survive without freshly squeezed orange juice every day now I'm home. The breakfasts are sensational - all the cakes are great - but the apple cake is out of this world. The B&B is gorgeous - all of the modern comforts of home in a secluded and relaxing setting. Kathleen and Nicole are amazing hosts - incredibly thoughtful, welcoming, accommodating, friendly and reliable. My wife and I plus our 19 month old son just stayed here for two weeks, with my parents joining us for the second week.
